Software to connect, recruit and develop people

NGA.NET proves big risks equal big rewards.

September 2008

IT entrepreneur, Mike Giuffrida, co-founder and CEO of HR software company, NGA.NET, has been awarded the 2008 Victorian State Pearcey Award for Young Achievers in the ICT Industry

The award aims to encourage and reward entrepreneurial talent and recognises innovative and pioneering achievement and contribution to research and development within the IT&T industry.

“Mike Giuffrida is an outstanding young entrepreneur whose local technology startup has survived and thrived in the highs and lows of the technology wave,” said Pearcey Foundation Deputy Chairman Wayne Fitzsimmons.

“Mike took a big gamble in locally developing highly-innovative and highly-risky advanced software technologies. His gamble has certainly paid off with his company now leading the Australian e-recruitment market and holding a dominant position against the world’s best.”

Presenting the award, Chairman of the National Committee of the Pearcey Foundation, Mr Ian Dennis commented that Mike exemplified all of the attributes the Foundation sees as critical for ensuring Australia's economic future is secured.

In accepting the award, Mike said that it was both a personal honour, and a credit to the hard work and ingenuity of the NGA.NET employees over the past 11 years.

Previous winners of the Victorian award include Ashley Herring, co-founder of CoolRock Software and Anthony Overmars, founder of Softronics.
